Light to keep you warm from Innermost
by Cosmina Dinu

The lamps are one of the most popular item in interior design. It is a small effort with a huge impact when redecorating your home sweet home. Change your lamp and you have a whole new room. And the financial implication is more than reasonable.
So, which is their key to success, besides affordability and large availability? Well, as I am a fan too, I can tell you that you can find any kind of lamp, for any space, any form or dimmension, made from any material, like all kinds of plastic, paper, rubber, glass, wool, felt or silk and even goose feathers.
Since the apparition of Tom Dixon‘s Felt Lamp, I am in for lamps with textile shade, a reccurent passion in windy and rainy seasons as these days. I believe it is the material of the shade that “dresses up” your little corner in a very personal, quite humanly way.
This explains why I couldn’t have passed over these playfull MnM lamps designed by Steve Jones for Innermost.

The quirky shaped shade is produced using 100% Natural wool and has a decorative seam detail, the simple narrow opening allows the shade to direct the light and highlight areas within the interior. MnM is available in both pendant and table lamp options.

Very soon after, a new shape joined the lamp family. SQ2RD / RD2SQ , also designed by Steve Jones, uses 100% Natural wool for the shade. The soft texture complements the crisp gloss finish of the acrylic diffuser. The diffuser can be placed in either convex or concave positions and has a small central opening to maximise illumination within the interior. Available in a selection of colours and size.

Steve Jones studied Industrial Design at Newcastle Polytechnic in the 80s before starting a career in consultancy in London He worked extensively in the furniture industry before moving into the lighting and forming Innermost with Russel Cameron in 1999.
In 2004 Steve moved to Hong Kong to open Innermost’s second office focusing on the design and manufacture of Innermost and our client’s own brands. With the business now established, there is more time to design once again along with Russell, and the pair have collaborated on several successful projects within the current range.
