Haven’t been to Kortrijk just for meeting the the old pals, and revisit past affairs. Definitely the main reason was greeting the newcomers, embracing their freshness. So we came came across ABR, a young Spanish, Catalonia based company at its second collection. The company pride itself with its young and dynamic team, led by Toni Pallejà from Porcuatro Studio, together with Marc Hernández.
Reccomended by ingenuity and humor, the team became famous very soon. Some of you appreciated the holy approach of saving data, through the Virgin Mary-shaped USB memory designed by Luis Eslava and I’m almost sure you all paid at least a zoomed glimpse to the provocative Cul is Cool chair of Ramón Úbeda and Otto Canalda. Check out for the new released white version!

This is about all we knew about ABR. At a second closer look we discovered the beautiful Feel-Thru collection of space dividers, serene and cosy – attributes given by the material it is made of : flame-proofed felt. The 2008 collection includes new versions.
So, as you may see, we had all the reasons to pay all our attention to the new released products.
Having displayed its capacity to offer new and fresh styles with the first collection, with the second collection ABR is reaffirming this freshness. At present the company keeps offering new types of products: a modular sofa and carpet, a rude-cut chair, a calendar with a design that could be personalized and a ceiling lamp adjustable in height.

Yep!They’re always nice to look at. And personally I am always surprised by Spanish design. It has that something. Powerfully aesthetic, colourful and storytale like aura.
I think May issue of I.D. magazine is dedicated to it.
